THE PRESERVE There are more than seven miles of hiking trails meandering through the property providing both scenic vistas and the opportunity for wildlife viewing. Miles of stone walls run through the property and there are several streams. The preserve is protected by conservation easements ensuring that the property will remain forever wild. The easements allow for the construction of two additional residences in order to develop a future family compound. Development of camp and agricultural uses are also permitted. Dancing Rock is situated on the coveted Old Albany Post Road, one of the nation’s oldest roads still in continual use. It was constructed under the supervision of Benjamin Franklin and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Dancing Rock Preserve provides the discerning buyer with the opportunity to disappear into nature while being convenient to New York City and minutes away from the cultural centers of Cold Spring, Garrison, Peekskill, and Beacon.
